  1. Kia ora Aleece,

Poi Rakau seems to be quite popular! I've seen lots of Summer Learning Journey children blog about Poi Rakau. It seems like a very fun game. Where have you played this game? :)

I've never played Poi Rakau before, but maybe you could find a video or a picture of people playing Poi Rakau so people know what the game looks like. It might be a good thing to add to your blog post. Let me know what you think!

    Keep up the great blogging!

    Noho ora mai,

    Emiely :)

  2. Kia ora Aleece,

My name is Megan and I am part of the Summer Learning Journey team. I am excited to have the opportunity to comment on your awesome posts this summer while you complete the Summer Learning Journey programme.

I have been really interested in Poi Rakau and have learnt a lot since reading your post. What I loved about this game is that the leader calls out the instructions in Te Reo Maori. I would find this more challenging, but exciting, listening for the Maori phrases as well as passing the stick. Maybe you could share this game with your teacher next year and play as a class. I would love to hear how you get on and maybe share a video of you all playing Poi Rakau.

Thank you for sharing the rules of Poi Rakau with us. Let me know if you try this game over the summer.

    Have a beautiful day,
    Megan
